Russell Gariepy becomes the second familiar face from last seasons Team Solent Kestrels squad to confirm his return for the 2024/25 season, as coach Guymon looks to keep the core of his group together.

Gariepy joined TSK last season for his first taste of NBL basketball having been a big part of the Bournemouth University BUCS squad previously. However before venturing to the UK, the 6’2 guard originally from Albion Pennsylvania, graduated from Penn State Dubois where he averaged 16 ppg in his senior year of college hoops.

After impressing in his first season with TSK, Russell took home NBL Division 2 South Team of the Year honours, as he posted averages of 16.2PPG, 5.7RPG, 3.4APG having a major influence in the offensive production for his side.

Coach Guymon commented, “We are really pleased to be welcoming Russ back for the new season, his impact across the board for us last year as a primary guard was huge. We are looking forward to him continuing to provide that level of play for us again this season, in what is looking like a very competitive NBL Division 2 South."

Stay tuned for more player signings across the remainder of the week and in the mean time you can secure your tickets for the first game of the pre season on Saturday 7th September 2024 at the Solent Sports Complex, where Kestrels take on Portsmouth Force in the Mick Byrne Memorial Game.
