Team Solent Kestrels are excited to announce the return of home town favourite Ashley Briggs for the 2024/25 NBL Division 2 season. The 6’8 Forward made his return to the TSK line up last season and reminded everyone in the country that he is still one of the standout big men domestically.
Briggs is a product of the TSK/Itchen College junior programme and a former GB international at junior level, having already worked extensively with Coach Guymon and Coach O’Keeffe prior to last season, he was able to slot right back in to the coaching staffs plans. Ash headed to the US on a scholarship after his time at Itchen College before returning home to feature for the NBL D2 side and more recently other local clubs.
Ash’s impact was right across the board as he gave his TSK side a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor, posting averages of 11.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 9.1 apg and 2.7 spg, which would see him earn British Team of the Year honours.
Coach Matt Guymon was really pleased to welcome Ash back for another season, “We are really pleased to have Ash back with us for the new season, he showed last year that he still has a lot to give and was one of the best forwards in the league. His ability to provide a presence inside for us whilst play making from the perimeter was incredibly valuable for us last season and I know he will be keen to build on his performances from last season also.”
Stay tuned for more TSK player signings this coming this week!
